GMAFB is rolling out of 2007 on a good note right into 2008. The traffic and users are growing here. Soon we’ll have enough users to be of Facebook or MySpace. Well maybe not quite that many, but we are growing at quite a growth spurt. More users (people) are starting to see the benefits and advantage of having a single place to put all the GMAFB things they find on the internet.
Here’s to 2008 and the eventual sale of GMAFB to a bigger social network or any social interaction place that needs a good platform of active users.
I know. I have seen it for myself. I tried to write a blog, but there was just absolutely nothing worthwhile to talk about. It’s those times when you start trying to find something, you just happen to trip across the stupid, the absurd, and the hilarious items.
That is the time to sign up, and just GMAFB the item. There are several items already that need a break.
Well if you have ever Googled, or Yahoo’d, or Ask dot com’d something and it pulled up the most ridiculous web site - you have found the place to post it! Share it here with everyone, and that way you lessen the burden on our over burdened e-mail systems.
I mean seriously, don’t you hate when you open your inbox and see nothing but “FWD:” after “FWD:” in your subject line?
Do something constructive - Sign Up - than look at items already waiting on a break - than just GMAFB an item of your own!
We never went away. We have always been here, but due to outside obligations, we haven’t been able to keep on top of this. The site is being viewed, and the stats aren’t great - but - we are trying to make them better.
Won’t you contribute to GMAFB today? Sign Up if you don’t already have an account!
We haven’t gone anywhere. We are still here, and just wanted you to know that everything here works. It’s not pretty, but life isn’t pretty at times. So with that being said, start giving breaks! No account? Well sign up! What has been sitting around for probably too long without rising to the main page?
Now that the ceromonial crap is over, who the F are we? Want to drop us a line? Sure go ahead.
This place is just like digg, and as you know and have read on my main blog Technically Speaking as well as on Mashable, Digg is screwed right now.
GMAFB welcomes you to sign on, register, and use this site now like I guess a “Digg 2” until things settle down on Digg. After digg rights the ship, when the boss steps to the plate, GMAFB will go back to being GMAFB - where you find the funny, absurd, and generally things that make you shake your head.
Rex Dixon, or “god” on here.
We made some changes here about a week and half ago. In the process, the subdomain function broke. It’s working again. Here were some of the changes:
- Moved the tutorial to the blog side bar
- Moved the “Friggin’ Break Report” SplashCast videos to this side bar also
- The big change was made font size bigger and readable
- Cleaned up all of our stuff in the unpublished; admins have like 3 days and if no one sees it as funny, gmafb or wtf - we delete and moderate ourselves
That is it. Spread the word, and we hope to see more people getting involved soon. It is just like digg, and we have also joined/signed up on a site called “digg like”. If you understand how digg works, then this should be a breeze.
We (especially Grill Master) believe in the art of self promotion. The only problem we had with it was that it appeared to be SPAM looking on the site. What we did was create a new area called “Self Promotion” for those that want to promote your site, items, products, etc. Mainly what we were seeing was other funny sites. That is quite fine, but it still was looking a bit too much like SPAM.
We want to encourage posting, but we also want to keep the site from having too much SPAM on it. I won’t say none, because that is nearly impossible. We will do the best we can to keep the links what they are suppose to be. That is of course the absurd, funny, GMAFB/WTF items that we see online.
Terms of Use (TOU) - Please abide by the few rules that are on it. Thank you!
